Chef Seunghyun Jo has built an illustrious career at some of the world’s most esteemed restaurants, including The French Laundry in Napa Valley and La Maison Troisgros in Roanne, France. After moving to San Francisco, he served as chef de cuisine at Benu for eight years, where he led the kitchen brigade. In 2024, driven by a desire to return to Korea, Chef Jo embarked on his first solo venture and opened Restaurant SAN, a restaurant that blends his classical French training with modern Korean influences.
Michael is originally from the UK. After graduating with a Mathematics degree from Imperial College, he was propelled by his passion for food to join The Kitchin in Edinburgh, where he spent four years under the mentorship of Tom Kitchin. He then worked at Chapter One by Mickael Viljanen in Dublin and Benu in San Francisco, before joining Chef Jo at SAN.
After studying Nutrition and earning a national dietitian license, Hyunah pursued her culinary training at the Culinary Institute of America. After graduating, she worked at Marea in New York. Returning to Korea, she worked in several fine dining restaurants in Seoul before joining SAN.
After earning a bachelor's degree in English Literature, Yuri discovered her passion for hospitality while studying and working in Ireland. She later decided to return to Korea and fully immerse herself in the restaurant scene in Seoul. Eventually becoming part of the opening team at SoSeoul Hannam, where she spent five years progressing to the role of Assistant Manager.
Jaemin is the winner of the Korea Sommelier of the Year 2023 and an Advanced Sommelier certified by The Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS). Additionally, he holds the Gold Diploma of Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI). Before joining SAN, he worked at Jungsik in Seoul for eight years as the head sommelier.
Dasom spent four years at Casa del Vino and further honed her expertise at Eatanic Garden before joining SAN. She is a Court of Master Sommelier (CMS) Certified Sommelier and a French Wine Scholar (FWS).
